Before you replace

Three things to check first

01

Where the line really is

Don’t assume the old fence marks your property line. Check your plat or survey. The Jefferson County PVA says its maps are for general reference only.

02

Today’s rules

Your new fence has to meet current height limits and any HOA rules, even if the old one didn’t. See the permit guide.

03

Utility lines

New posts mean new holes. Kentucky law requires a call to 811 at least two full working days before digging.

Replacing is a chance to rethink upkeep

If your old wood fence wore out, it’s worth weighing upkeep along with price. Wood costs less upfront and can be stained any color, but it needs resealing every few years to handle our wet springs. Vinyl costs more at the start, never needs staining and won’t rot. Aluminum needs almost no maintenance at all.

Most fences go up in one to two days, and our crew cleans up the site when it’s done.
